That’s great! We encourage you to remain in your LifeGroup and grow by “doing life together.” Growth Groups during the Discipleship Hour are meant to supplement LifeGroups; not replace them. If you already have a group, we encourage you to get plugged into a serving opportunity in one of our ministries during the Discipleship Hour.
[toggle title="What are Growth Groups?"]
Growth Groups are groups that meet on Sunday during the Discipleship Hour from 9:15 to 10:15 AM. These groups are an opportunity to connect, learn, and grow together in a small to medium group setting. There are Growth Groups for all ages with various formats of studies from verse by verse to topical to video-based teaching.
[toggle title="What's the difference between a Growth Group and a Life Group?"]
LifeGroups are usually smaller and take the next step of “doing life together.” That means these groups meet outside of Sunday mornings to actively participate together in “Serving Others” and “Sharing Hope.”
[toggle title="How do I learn more about specific Growth Groups?"]
You can come to the FBC Connect Desk, search and email the group leader through the search at the bottom of this page, or just stop in and try one out.
[toggle title="How does the schedule change impact my kids?"]
Children will continue to have activities during both services and the Discipleship Hour. Students 6th grade and up should attend service with their parents and then participate in their group during the Discipleship Hour?
[toggle title="Can my LifeGroup meet during the Discipleship Hour?"]
Yes, some LifeGroups will meet during the Discipleship Hour but rooms are limited. Please contact the Adult Council to see if there is a room available for your group. If your group is meeting regularly outside of Sundays, we strongly encourage you to continue to do so.
[toggle title="Can I be involved in both a LifeGroup and a Growth Group?"]
Absolutely. Many people participate in both.
[toggle title="What if I don't want to participate in a group during the Discipleship Hour?"]
We encourage everyone to be a part of a group so that you can better grow into a maturing follower of Jesus. It is our belief that this growth happens when we invest in doing life together. It’s the model Jesus set for us as he invested in his small group of twelve disciples.
